We are about to hit the 4th month of the calendar and some of your resolutions of last year need to be on top of your bucket list by now. Traveling to Rome? Having a dog? Opening your own company? I am going to tell you the secrets of why the decade is waiting for you and for YOUR decisions to change your life to become who you want to be by just saying one word: Yes.
To completely change your lifestyle you will need to follow some simple rules that can be hard to do every single day: that’s your first challenge. I am not giving you tips because I found them online and they seem quite clear that they can work on you. I am going to use what worked for me to explain how I changed my state of mind and how a simple word made such a big difference in my life.
I had this book on my shelf for three years and I never opened it until I heard what it was about in articles, social media and even TV. I decided to open it to see what’s going on in this special book that everyone was talking about. I remember reading those pages under the sun and the feelings in my mind while I was reading. It didn’t transformed me but established my spirit to be prepared for my renewal. Named The Miracle Morning, written in 2012 by Hal Elrod, this book explains the way waking up early (8a.m) daily and having the good routine will help you to be motivated every day and have a productive day . You can find it for $18 here. This will not change completly your habits but it will be part of your metamorphosis. There is no need to spend a dollar to change your behavior with life and become the person you really want to be.
First thing first, if you want to have a good and long life, you need a robust body with a healthy lifestyle. According to a study of the impact of health habits on life expectancy made by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health: “Healthy habits make a big difference. […] People […] enjoyed significantly, impressively longer lives than those who had none [healthy habits]: 14 years for women and 12 years for men.” It demonstrates that 30 minutes of workout per day is beneficial not only for your body but also for your mind. Doing Yoga every day decrease the amout of stress. In the United States of America and according to The American Institute of Stress, “77% percent of people […] regularly experience physical symptoms caused by stress.” So take your running shoes and go outside with your dog, drink your favorite herbal tea, do a yoga session and boost yourself.
The second step is to clear your mind and not by making your Disney+ subscription profitable but by writting a list of all your goals in life in your never-opened notebook. Be ready for 2020 by setting your goals and what you want to achieve this decade.
- Do a Bucket List: trips to do, places to visit, to eat, to sleep. Concerts, festivals, acitivities you have always dreamt to do. Everything need to appear in there. For my part, I have 145 dreams that you can find in my own Bucket List, thanks to one method (see step 9) I realised 27 of them (and I am 21).
- Use/print planners to do a short list of what you have accomplished today, for the week, the month. Have multiples, one for your groceries, another for your personnal tasks, one for your goals in life such as “quit my job and open my own company.”
Those will help you clear your mind about what you want to achieve in the next weeks, keep your target in mind, your most important goal always need to be on top of every lists.
Don’t forget that the past is the past, and be happy of what occured in it because you can’t change it, it is part of you, your definition. Each days are important and create your history. There is no waisted day and you can make all of them exeptionals by doing what you love: in your job, in your spare time, in your relations with people etc… Then, make things happen, don’t wait for opportunities to come to you. If you really want a job, a man, the brand new Chanel bag, the last Dior mascara, just go for it and get it! You don’t need anyone and you can have anything with determination, passion, strengh and courage.
Be grateful of what happened in your life, everything occurs for a reason, coincidence does not exist. You choose the life you want to have, start making descisions and act right now. Time is precious and it is not going to wait for you. Making a mental list of what you’ve accomplished in your life can only remind you how powerful you are and will make you want to do even more.
Coffee in one hand, confidence in the other. Be positive, trust yourself, love and be true to yourself, have confidence so don’t be jealous of other’s success, there is enough for all of us. Celebrate any tiny little victory.
We all know that positive thoughts equals positive thoughts, they go together. But what is really the definition of positive attitude? It is simply an optimistic vision of life and to stand up, have a unpertured posture against all of the hard moments that you can go through. Waking up every morning with a positive attitude is the behaviour to adopt to live a happy life. And certainly, accroding to a study realized by the University of Kansas, smiling -even fake smiles- decrease the stress you accumulated and your heat rate. So do not feel bad anymore to watch your favorite Youtuber, smile everyday, it is good for your health.
Certains websites and apps for phones are really pointing motivation out and can help you to be mentaly better. Pinterest is one of them, this application will inspire you in a lot of fields like fashion, decoration, you can find DIY and tips but also great quotes and inspirational photos that are catchy and will boost your inside in a snap.
We all take inspiration from someone else, find your own and the people that can be defined as your heroes. A singer, an actor, a philosopher, an activist? Take the little actions they made and transform them into inspiration. What they have accomplished can be a starting point for your motivation to grow and become stronger and stronger. Don’t let anyone be on your way or telling you that you can’t, because you’ll accomplish the impossible and prove them wrong.
…of your wardrobe…
A lot of people say that you are what you look like and ever if that’s not a 100% true, a lot of people would think that it is. It is time to make room in your wardrobe taking rid of everything that remind you of something bad and buy new clothes that will make you feel powerful, remember who you are and change the game.
To do that, you can either give your clothes: to your family, friends or an association for people in need. You can also transform them with the help of a pair of scissors and a needle to create a new piece for a new you. If you agreed with yourself to make this transformation but you don’t really want to spend money, you can sell your clothes online. Applications such as Mercari.com, Poshmark.com, Depop.com will help you to collect a certain amount so that you will be able to purchase new ones. We all know that clothes are not going to change the world, but the women who wear them, will.
Haters gonna hate, so you’d rather kill them with your success and bury them with a smile. Take rid of all the toxic people in your life, they are not worth your time. Those people can be in your circle of friends, ex-boyfriends or it can even be your boyfriend, neighbours or members of your family. Forget about all the poeple that drag you down. You might not know how to recognize them. It is really simple, if the person is always critizing what you do, is jealous of your accomplisment, ideas and success. If those persons talk a lot about themselves without encouraging you about anything you’ve said, they want you to help them before taking care of yourself. They are selfish. If you pictured a face in your mind while reading this, you need to ask yourself the right question: Do I really need bad vibes like this in my life, wouldn’t I be more happier and productive with positive people that can push me up?
There is a three-letters word that changed my life forever. Those letters are Y.E.S. It can seem stupid and completely absurd but have you read the book “Yes Man” by Danny Wallace? or seen the movie realized after the novel with the main character played by Jim Carrey? By saying yes to almost everything you will bring the positive to you and it is going to open a lot of doors to a life that you would not expect at first. It is the same principle than the law of attraction, in fact, if you are positive you attracts the positive. A professor of psychology and director of the Shyness Research Institute at Indiana University Southeast, Bernardo Carducci, said for the magazine Fastcompany.com: “There’s a natural tendency for people to be hesitant when asked to do something outside of their comfort zones. The problem is when you do this too often. If your primary response becomes no, you will never discover and test your true limits.”
With all of those steps you’ll be ready for 2020 and you can accomplish everything because you have all the keys to lead you to success. You just need the guts and the motivation that will guide you. Oh, and never forget: work in silence, let success make the noise!
